Quick and Easy Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos Recipe

Ingredients

For the Shrimp

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lime juice

For the Tacos

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Chopped green onions
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
    • Coat the shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  2. Fry the Shrimp:
    • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Once hot, add the coated shrimp in batches and fry until golden brown and cooked through (approximately 2-3 minutes per side).
    • Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  3. Make the Bang Bang Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice. Mix until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Tacos:
    • Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
    • Place a layer of shredded lettuce on each tortilla, followed by the fried shrimp.
    • Drizzle with Bang Bang sauce and top with diced tomatoes and green onions.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
